sometimes, when i sign in to windows live messenger i am presented with a load of links. what's new, view the next item, things like that.

i try signing out and then signing back in, but it still comes up with it.

does anybody know what's going on?

It's all part of hotmail's new look and feel and personally I don't like it one bit.

Another setting. In the main window of messenger alt T for tools. Arrow up to options hit inter. You are on General. Shift tab up and you have the list. Arrow to sign in tab tell you find a box that says start the today page, or something to that effect and uncheck it. Now when you sign in you'll get an add now and then you can just close, but not each time. I think this is the problem you are having.
